Sporting and recreational facilities
As a student at QUT, you can benefit from state-of-the-art sporting facilities including an indoor heated swimming pool, tennis, squash and netball courts, fitness centres, a gymnasium and athletics ovals.
The QUT Student Guild operates licensed clubs and cafés on all campuses. Theatres on the Gardens Point and Kelvin Grove campuses contribute to the cultural life of our university and the Gardens Point campus even has its own Art Gallery. Automatic Teller Machines are available on all campuses to withdraw cash.

The student centres on all campuses have computing facilities to check timetables and personal details, and a range of university publications and guides.

Childcare centres
Our QUT Student Guild operates licensed childcare centres on all campuses.
The Student Guild prides itself on the care and education provided to children who attend its centres, as well as the facilities offered. Places in these centres are limited and fill fast.

Health Services
Health and medical services are available to you on the Kelvin Grove and Gardens Point campuses. The School of Optometry at Kelvin Grove campus offers students free eye examinations.
Security on campus
QUT’s security service on all campuses is dedicated to ensuring a safe and secure study environment for you. Security guards regularly patrol campuses and emergency call points are conveniently located. Our free night shuttle bus will take you to the nearest public transport stations and stops.

QUT Virtual is our personalised web service providing secure access to all the online resources you need to successfully complete your studies. You can:

- Enrol in units and view class allocation options, exam results, academic history and book lists

Online Learning and Teaching
Every unit taught at QUT has its own Online Learning and Teaching (OLT) website designed to give instant access to necessary learning resources. Sites typically include access to materials such as:
- unit outlines, lecture, tutorial and seminar materials
- items held in the QUT library’s Course Materials Database (CMD)
- interactive resources such as online discussions, live chat and email, and email archives
- links to useful websites, frequently asked questions and assignment examples
- assignment and project management facilities, including assignment upload links so students can submit work electronically
Computing facilities
Student computing laboratories on each campus operate 24/7 providing networked access to:
- general and scientific software, including word processing, scanning, image processing and printing facilities, advanced scientific, statistical, CAD, mathematical and qualitative analysis packages

QUT library
Visit the libraries on all campuses, including the law library at Gardens Point or access library services from your home computer 24/7. During semester the Gardens Point, Kelvin Grove and Carseldine campus branches of QUT’s library are open seven days a week.
The library’s web catalogue provides fast access to over 780 000 books and multimedia items, ebooks and Internet resources as well as 22 300 ejournals and 6000 print journals.
